I believe this is the tenth song to get a score over 7.00 this year. The others (in descending order): Wiley & Chew Fu, Joy Orbison, Gold Panda, Big Boi feat. Gucci Mane, Dennis Ferrer, The Bangz feat. New Boyz, Sade, Lady GaGa feat Beyoncé, and Gil Scott-Heron.

Zinc ft. Ms. Dynamite, “Wile Out” (The Singles Jukebox). “I’m not surprised. It’s a good year so far for albums too, I think,” I replied. It’s true: I’ve already heard lots of good stuff, some of it potentially great. Last year I was not on board with the indie consensus (petulant as hell about it, too), but I like the Spoon, Yeasayer, Vampire Weekend, Soft Pack, and Ted Leo albums a bunch, as well as electronic outliers Pantha Du Prince and Four Tet. At TSJ, I’ve given out five 7s, seven 8s, and a 9 so far—that’s in a little over a month. Things can always drop off, but I’m optimistic. (via thediscography)
